Wellness For Life

This program provides an alternative approach by teaching the importance of mindfulness and self-care. We create a healthy community of young people by focusing on mental health, prevention, and promoting the mind/body connection.

Organizational Skills

Creating structure and maintaining a routine provides self-discipline, to achieve your life passion. Calendars, planners, and lists of goals they want to accomplish, can help young people maintain accountability and serenity.

Paying It Forward

Practicing living in the community through volunteering and helping others can help with our individual self healing. Whether that be through sharing personal stories, selfless deeds, or daily acts of kindness, we can emotionally feel the benefits of this practice.

Mental Health Awareness

We listen to our teens, and show empathy towards their situations, home life and backgrounds. Our youth may need professional counseling for emotional, behavioral and various health challenges. Together, we can change the conversation on mental health with our youth and provide them the treatment and support they need to flourish at home, at school, and in the community.

Self Care

Taking time to love yourself is what we focus on in our  program. We know that self-love-care comes in many forms, such as taking a bath, reading, massage therapy, rest, and positive social connections are imperative to live your best life.

Prevention

When young people are supported by family, friends, schools and community, they are more likely to avoid drugs, alcohol, codependency, and mental health issues. Our prevention program provides important resources to facilitate positive outcomes.

Journaling

Journaling helps our youth to process their feelings and makes it easier for them to communicate their ideas. It is a way to reflect on our individuality and identity in a safe way, without fear of judgment. When young people can use journaling as a release, they may be better prepared to explore their journey of self.

Alternative Approach

Different modalities such as Acupuncture, Essential Oils, Cranial-sacral therapy or a calming herbal tea, can help with chronic fatigue, insomnia, headaches, and anxiety.  At our YDC we find that certain ailments can be treated through natural remedies.
