A Strong Mind Needs A Strong Body

Do you want to relieve stress, tension, brain fog, depression, and feel and look beautiful? If you said no… dive deeper into why, because who does not!?  How can one accomplish these things you ask? Surprise surprise it is exercise. This simple activity can also lower blood pressure and drops the odds of receiving heart disease.

Exercise is the activity that requires physical effort to support or develop health and fitness motives. According to Whole Brain Health, regular exercise can promote the release of endorphins as well as help relieve stress and promote a healthy sleep pattern, which can all work together to improve our mood. In addition, there is evidence to suggest that exercise may even help in the treatment of depression, anxiety, stress, ADHD, and PTSD. A current study completed by Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health discovered that running for just 15 minutes a day or walking for an hour reduces the risk of major depression by 26%. This shows that even moderate activity is favorable, and you do not have to be a die-hard bodybuilder to receive the benefits that physical activity can bring you, though bodybuilding is wonderful and inspiring.

To relieve tension during physical activity, practice taking note of the sensation your feet feel while trouncing the ground, or the rhythm of your breath pulling in fresh oxygen and letting out all the negativity you have faced today, or the stir feeling of the wind gliding across you while rewarding you with a cool breeze as it passes your moist skin. This is called being mindful and consists of being aware of your body and how it feels as you work out. According to The Mental Health Guide, physical activity immediately boots the brain’s dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin levels – all of which affect focus, memory, well-being, and happiness and works even better when one is in tune with their emotions instead of zoning out.

Exercise is carried out with a specific purpose and that purpose is different for everyone. For some, it is to progress into a certain image or body mass they want to render, for others it is to simply have a time for themselves and maybe blow off some steam. Whatever your motives or goals are, you want to aim for the mindfulness element to make sure the thoughts throughout are healthy and supportive. For instance, if you are angry with yourself because you didn’t go as hard as you wish you had, thank your body for all it has done for you today like getting you out of bed and walking you from point A to point B. Tomorrow is a new day and guess what? Your body will still be carrying you through it all.
